autumn crinkle and crunch
a papery symphony underfoot
and in the cinnamon nutmeg air
hangs anticipation
plaid flannels warm the body
as friendship warms the heart
and from each face
lit by campfire light
beams a smile beatific
as marshmallows burn and bubble
