so it is we're taught
by a world fraught with fighting
where shouting the loudest
by the dumbest and proudest
leaves us with messages mixed
surety wrong in self-righteousness
but you cannot deter the determined
those who make their will their own
will make their own way
those who seize the reins win the day
the intrepid are exalted
and when they fail still unfaulted
