At the ballet
shapes arc and fly
contorting time and space
weaving ligaments
and air in a tapestry
of rhythm and color
lissome forms
against a blank canvas
the eye drawn
from point to point
unable to see all
creates an impressionist
view of movement
a Degas sprung forth
freed of its shackles
to live in the now
vibrant and taut with animus
